Football tours are a great opportunity to offer a short or long term reward to you pupils. Our experts offer some great advise on where to start with your booking process.
Inspiresport was founded on partnerships with UK schools football associations back in 2004, so we know a thing or two about tour requirements for schools who are keen to involve players and develop skills. As proud sponsors of the last 3 years Schools Association Football International Board (SAFIB) tournaments; Centenary shield, Bob Docherty and Allen McKinstry Cup we have provided tours and training camps for many of the schools involved in these tournaments, and have travelled with many players who go on to represent their country at national level.
1- Start small
Leading a tour is not an easy task, particularly if you have never toured with your current school, and a great starting point is a Match day experience, as they allow for a fairly quick turnaround providing you know which team you want to go and see! We work with many of the English Premier League Clubs, and with a fast paced season you can go from quote to travel in just one school term. Match day experiences include a short training session with the club academy coaches for inspiration and a professional fixture, giving young players a taste of the professional life of a football player, without spending any nights away from home. Transport can be included if required, as well as lunch, but most of all an unforgettable trip is guaranteed for everyone.
2- Extend your UK tour
For those players willing to spend a few nights away from home, we work with clubs such as Manchester City FC and Tottenham Hotspur who provide in-depth quality training with academy coaches. They have some of the best training facilities and setups in the country and we are extremely proud to work exclusively with these teams. Eat, sleep and train like a pro on one of these tours without the need to leave the UK!
3- Book securely
Dont overlook the importance of travelling with a certified tour operator. Make sure to check if your tour operator is bonded for financial security, and if they hold any educational awards. Inspiresport are ABTA and ATOL bonded, part of the Mid-Counties Co-Operative, and have been awarded the School Travel Forum (STF) LOtC QA award. Membership of the STF is essential for all school and student travel organisers, so make sure you dont book with an operator who cannot provide you with proof of their certificates. We are the only youth operator to be endorsed by UK and European school sport governing bodies.
4- Go Large!
If you are looking to motivate your players to develop their skills and boost their dedication to football, a tour in Europe or even a long haul destination could do just that. Keep an eye out for our next update on FC Porto tours for more information.
