South Africa is full of reasons that attract people from all around the world to go and explore its wonders. It is difficult to choose the best of the best but we’ve narrowed those reasons down.
1.Cape Town
The capital city of South Africa attracts with it’s coming together of cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. The magnificent city is crowned by the majestic Table Mountain National Park.
2. Natural Wanders
Cultivated areas such as the historic Company’s Gardens, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and Green Point Urban Park make exploring the cit a pleasure.
3.Art & Design
Cape Town was renowned as the World Design Capital in 2014 and you can immediately see why as soon as you visit. From the brightly painted buildings in the Bo-Kaap area to the Afro-chic decor in the bar and restaurants. From the bathing chalets of Muizenberg to the striking street art.
4.People and Culture
Cape Town is a true celebration of diversity. Christians, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and traditional African beliefs coexist peacefully in this proudly multicultural city.
5.Animals
South Africa is home of the famous Kruger National Park – one of the world’s greatest wildlife-watching destinations. It holds together all of Africa’s iconic safari species including elephant, lion, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, zebra, over 137 other mammals and over 500 varieties of bird. Addo Elephant National Park is another national treasure. When Addo was proclaimed a national park in 1931, there were only 11 elephants left; today there are more than 600 in the park, and you’d be unlucky not to see some. A day or two at Addo is a highlight of any visit to this part of the Eastern Cape, not only for the elephants but for the lions, zebras, black rhinos, Cape buffaloes, spotted hyenas, and myriad birds. The park is also one of few which boasts the ‘Big Seven’, thanks to sightings of great white sharks and southern right whale (in season) of its coastal sections.
6.Drakensberg & uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park
Drakensberg’s tabletop peaks are said to be one of few natural wonders that truly live up to the hype of all the airbrushed photos appearing in media. This forms the boundary between South Africa and the mountain kingdom of Lesotho and offers some of the country’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
7.Blyde River Canyon
One of the world’s largest canyons and one of South Africa’s most outstanding natural sights – little wonder that it is increasingly popular with international visitors.
8.Sports
South Africa has plenty to offer to the ones who love an adventure. Popular sports amongst its citizens include surf, hiking, mountain biking, rugby, and paragliding.
