Why did you want to join inspiresport?
The role and company were sold to me at interview – I have a huge passion for sport and the opportunity excited me. I wanted to stay in sport after 10 years at the Welsh Rugby Union and this was a perfect next-step role.
-
How long have you been with inspiresport?
9 months – it seems like longer (not sure if that’s a good thing or not)
-
What do you like the most about your job?
No day is the same as the previous – there is a challenge every day to keep you on your toes.
-
As a child, what did you think you were going to be when you grow up?
A truck driver – I was obsessed with trucks.
-
If you had to describe yourself with just one emoji – which one would it be?
👨👩👦
-
What do you like doing in your spare time – do you have any hobbies/how do you relax?
I watch pretty much any sport – mostly football, NFL and cycling. Love (good) movies. I play football occasionally and cycle around 40 miles every week. A lot of my time is taken up by my 3 year old son – we have a lot of fun together.
-
Who is your sporting hero?
Too many to mention here:- William Perry, Walter Payton, Chris Boardman, Darren Gough, Lucas Radebe, Kevin Sinfield etc etc etc…. The only time I have managed to share a sporting arena with one was when I played for a WRU team against the Welsh FA and I played against Gary Speed. I will cherish that moment for a lot of reasons.
-
If you were a Disney character who would you be and why?
Tigger – boundless energy and endless optimism or
Buzz Lightyear – to entertain my 3 year old who adores him
