Inspiresport, are pleased to announce a new association with the Chelsea FC Foundation which will open the Cobham Training Ground for school and youth team development tours.
The two-year agreement is the only one of its kind for the Chelsea FC Foundation and is a welcome addition to the inspiresport portfolio which also includes Manchester City, Internazionale Milano, Real Madrid and FC Porto amongst others.
From 1st January 2020, school and youth teams can train at Cobham under guidance from the Foundation’s coaching team, using the same training venue as the 2019 Europa League winning Chelsea FC Men’s team.
Sessions will take place in the purpose-built indoor Arena or on one of the complex’s 30 outdoor pitches.
Cobham is also home to Chelsea FC Women who finished third in the 2018/19 Women’s Super League as well as the Boys Academy which boasts age range teams from U9 to U21s and Girls Regional Talent Centre from ages U10 to WSLA U23 teams.
Steve Butchart, CEO at inspiresport said:
“We are very excited to be working with the Chelsea FC Foundation team on this new tour destination. The facilities on offer at Cobham are first class and are sure to inspire passion and creativity in groups who visit. All four of the finalists in this year’s European club competitions were Premier League clubs, which proves that we have one of the strongest leagues in the world. Adding Chelsea to our Premier League portfolio strengthens our football proposition considerably and offers a fantastic opportunity for Inbound and domestic teams to enjoy a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience close to London with its iconic historic and cultural landmarks.”
Dan Jacquart, Head of Region South-West at Chelsea FC Foundation said:
“Chelsea FC Foundation are delighted to be teaming up with inspiresport to enable touring groups to access Cobham Training Ground. Allowing players to experience stepping onto the pitches here will provide them with a greater understanding of what it is like to train at such facilities that are shared by the Men’s and Women’s professional and academy teams. Groups will learn how to play “the Chelsea way” following a bespoke coaching programme with sessions being delivered under the guidance of Foundation coaches designed to allow players to become more creative and more confident in decision making especially in game situations.”
