INSPIRESPORT PACKING CHECKLIST
With just two weeks to go until 7 of our staff undertake a reasonably tough challenge, we caught up with our CEO and a couple of the riders to see how they are feeling. They sent out fundraising requests over the weekend to friends and family and have collectively raised 760GDP so far, of their 2000GDP target.
We asked our Head of UK Operations, Gordon, whats the first thing that comes to mind when we mention the cycle ride? He answered quite simply, “CHAFIDGE!”. Ouch!
Thankfully, Tour Manager Alan had a few more words to say, “I love most sports so when we were asked to sign up, there was no hesitation. I often go riding with my family but riding for three days straight will be a challenge! The first thing that comes to mind is UNWAVERING we will have to spur each other on,remain positive and good humoured, at a steady pace if we are going to enjoy the ride”.
While our CEO determinedly remains “DELIGHTED” to take on the challenge as an amateur cyclist, the competitive side is already starting to show. Having been on a number of rides at the end of the working day in and around the Cardiff area with his colleagues in preparation for the ride, the discussion in the office often turns to who has ridden which part of the taff trail, and how many hills it included!
The ride will begin at the current home of Bury FC, Carrington Training Centre (previous home of Manchester City FC) and the team will make their way down to Newport, South Wales over three days. Day four will be short and sweet for the team as they make the final last leg of just 15 miles from Newport to our head office in Cardiff around mid-morning.
